MAKE

••• PRESSED PLANT ART!

From the garden to the press to your wall.

Real leaves and flowers, real pretty.

Before you can make pressed plant art, though, you’ve gotta press some plants!

Once you’ve made your press and pressed some plants, you’re ready to make pressed plant art.

COLLECT

PROCESS

  • Take a pressed leaf or flower and carefully lay it on your piece of paper, adjusting the position until it looks just right.

  • Lift up the plant, and squeeze an itty bitty dab of glue in its place on the paper.

  • Gently press the plant onto the glue.

  • Repeat with very small drops of glue behind any flyaway bits, to ensure the plant is flat.

  • Press / tap everything down softly.

  • Let dry.

  • You’ve done it!

Good to Know

  • Pressed and dried plants are delicate, and can be fussy — especially when they come in contact with glue. Don’t be dismayed if you lose a few specimens! Remember what works (and what doesn’t) and keep at it.
